Jim Baker

Currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Ephicacy, Jim oversees all operational delivery, client engagement and business development aspects of the organization. His focus is on driving growth and customer satisfaction through process improvement and global collaboration practices.

With a career spanning over 35 years, Jim has demonstrated remarkable leadership in bioanalytical teams within the pharmaceutical and clinical research organization industries. He pioneered the implementation of functional service contracts during his tenure as the Executive Director of Statistical Programming at Amgen in the early 2000s. Under his guidance and leadership, the programming team expanded globally, reaching a size of over 250 employees. Subsequently, as the Senior Vice President of the FSP Business Unit at Cytel from 2011 onwards, Jim successfully propelled the division to the largest within Cytel, from a revenue and headcount perspective.

Jim’s professional journey commenced as a technical and hands-on statistical programmer, evolving over time into diverse leadership roles at all levels. He has contributed his leadership expertise to prominent clinical research organizations such as Cytel, Parexel, Covance (Labcorp). His extensive experience also includes significant years within top pharmaceutical corporations such as Amgen, Takeda and Wyeth.

He holds a B.A. in Business Administration with a minor in Mathematics from the Washington Adventist University, Maryland.
